My sister, who works for HUD in Atlanta, sent me an email this morning asking me to pass a message along that there is a website claiming to be HUD owned, but it is a scam. If you see this website be aware that it is not affiliated with HUD in any way. The link below will take you to the fake website.
There is a very nice article about Austin’s Mueller Development posted on the Austin American Statesman’s website today. It appears that the project is on course to realize the dream that brought us this beautiful community. If you haven’t checked this community out you should. The affordable housing program is still available as well as several homes with lots of bells and whistles, some even have built in doggy showers.
If you are looking for low priced homes in desirable locations, Main Street Homes offers you are looking for. Parkridge Gardens is located just off S Congress St near South Park Meadows, this community features single family homes with current available inventory priced from the mid $130,000s to the high $170,000, with square footage from just over 1,000 to more than 1750. These homes are very well laid out and some are on large lots. Downtown Austin is only a few minutes away and Mary Moore Searight Metropolitan Park is very close by as well.
Both neighborhoods are offering zero down move in. Speaking of zero down, it is not solely responsible for the current issues within the housing market. Other issues like inflated appraisals, taxes on the structure not being included in the quoted monthly payment, uneven supply and demand which lead to crazy inflation of home prices (this didn’t happen in Austin!), Adjustable Rate Mortgages (ARMs), plus a host of other issues. If you use a zero down program and get a fixed interest rate loan, plus make sure that the taxes on the structure are included in your quoted monthly payments, you should do just fine under normal circumstances; steady job and income, no unexpected life issues, etc.. Homes are very affordable right now so now is the time to buy. Waiting until the market is stronger means waiting until prices go up. When something that you want is on sale for a lower price you buy it right? You don’t wait until the sale ends and the price goes back up do you? Don’t miss out on this opportunity! The Newflower Farmer’s Market is located on the SW corner of Manchaca & William Cannon in South Austin. This store sells fresh fruit and vegetable as So far I have tried the fresh salmon and the barbequed chicken is delicious, especially if you bake it at 350° for 1.5 hours and be sure to add a little water, but let’s get back on track, Newflower market has a good comprehensive variety of fresh foods and the prices are fair. My next goal is to try as many of the fresh cheeses as possible. See you there!
Waterstone Development, the developer of Avery Ranch, is bringing a great mixed use development called Avery Center to east Round Rock, TX. This 1400 acre retail, residential, and commercial development will be located near the intersection of AW Grimes & CR 112 near Texas State University and not far from Teravista and the IKEA, plus the Round Rock Premium Outlets. Residential offerings will include apartments and townhomes, which is just what area college students need. This development should be 100% complete by 2018.
